Mrs Elizabeth Chapman

Year 4 Teacher

After starting my career in Property with a BSC in Land Management, I worked for Essex County Council Highways for over a decade, however, I was never really happy. It was always just a job, so after a reshuffle of the Council I took the decision to start on a new career and secured a post at a local primary school as a Teaching Assistant during which time I supported an autistic pupil all through his school journey.  I enjoyed working with a team of education professionals and this inspired me to take my Teacher training and qualify.  I started working at Magna Carta on a temporary basis and was thrilled to be asked to join the team full time in 2022.  I have worked in a number of environments and with a huge variety of colleagues and I can honestly say I have never worked in such an inspirational and supportive environment as Magna Carta.  The children are at the heart of everything we do and I feel very lucky to be part of that. I find satisfaction in seeing children aspire and grow, knowing that I have played a part in supporting them to develop their knowledge and confidence to succeed.  I love working in year 4, helping them develop into individuals, watching them grow and thrive with each new challenge. At home my children remind me that all pupils keep growing and will in their own time become adults and I feel privileged to be able to help them achieve. Outside of work I find enjoyment in the love that I get from my dog, the exhilaration of road cycling and spending quality time with my family.
